Hello
My name is Dr. Lauren Foley
I am a licensed clinical psychologist who specializes in trauma therapy for adult men and women.

About Me
Over the years I have helped individuals overcome various traumatic experiences, including combat, IED explosions, home invasions, rape, assault with a deadly weapon, near-death experiences and childhood physical and emotional abuse. Trauma may have defined your past, but I wholeheartedly believe it does not have to define your future.

My approach is client-centered, empathetic, and rooted in evidence-based practices. I am passionate about guiding my clients towards healing, resilience, and a renewed sense of hope.
Training and Experience
In addition to working with clients in private practice, I am a Clinical Psychologist at the Alaska VA Healthcare System. Prior to starting Nanook Wellness and Psychology, I trained and worked in various medical, educational and mental health settings within New York and the surrounding area including the Dubin Breast Center of the Tisch Cancer Institute at Mount Sinai Hospital, Friends Academy and the Dean Hope Center for Educational and Psychological Services at Teachers College, Columbia University. Outside of the New York area I also trained at the Center for Change in Orem, Utah. Most recently I worked for a group private practice, INSPIRE Psychological Wellness.

During my graduate studies I worked as the Research and School Engagement Coordinator for the Collaborative for Spirituality in Education (CSE), a center for research and teaching at Teachers College, Columbia University, where I researched spiritually supportive school culture. My later research examined how independent schools create spiritually formative environmental education programs for children and adolescents.
